My ladyfriend, Karena, did a grassroots campaign called #sugarlandsentence in which she asked folks to read a line (or more) from the book. It was sooo amazing that to celebrate SUGAR LAND turning one I put them together into this 8-minute video that literally IS the book, from start-to-finish (despite what the 11-hour audiobook tells you).... you'll also read some of the best highlights from my book tour, including swag and surprise appearance by off-grid friends and dish towels...

When asked about the best part of our trip to Cinque Terre, Italy (sees pics below), the twins responded - at the same time - "Gelato, every day!" This summer we travelled quite a bit, with one valuable lesson that I will share with all parents who don't already know: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN ANY PLACE WITHOUT A BEACH OR WITHOUT GELATO, every day... Read also about trips to Amsterdam, with oysters as big as tongues, Venice, and finding room at a Paris restaurant...
For those of you who haven't seen the pics on Facebook, this is our new Bernese Mountain Dog puppy - also the reason why I'm hungry. She hangs out in the kitchen during the day for several hours at a time to get her used to being alone, and if I go in to eat, I am sucked into cuteness and my morning is shot. So I starve. ...and the roosters crow all day long! And that is what I have now here in Muttenz, Switzerland. Karena, my ladyfriend (shown on the big screen reading next to me in the opening image to this little ditty), is threatening to do a COW CAM - more on that should it happen. They do frollick, after all. Meanwhile here they are, right outside the window where I'm writing this... Read on about Muttenz, book touring (including a custom-made cocktail), and a few podcasts... Who Does It Best? As you may know, Karena and I recently moved to Basel, Switzerland from Portland, OR, so I decided to do a list of Who Does What Better: Basel v. Portland. It includes some very revealing links... Also read about the West Coast tour trials and tribulations (including these tasty cookies!) and more... |
